 From: Bryan Linden Professional Photographer To Fortress: I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how impressed I've been with the performance of the Fortress External HD. I've been working with a 20GB model for a couple of months now and have really been giving it a workout. The drive has been with me in my camera or computer bag for several shoots and has performed wonderfully. I've even taken it to a few trade shows to show colleagues and get their opinions of the unit. My favorite way to introduce the Fortress drive to them has been to drop it on the ground just as they reach for the drive. This of course brings a look of shock to their faces usually followed by a comment like I hope you didn't have anything important on your drive. The shock then turns to smiles and wows as I plug the Fortress drive into my computer and all of my files show up just as I expect. I've dropped the drive at least 50 times onto all kinds of surfaces including concrete and I've never had a problem. My data is extremely important to me because I make a living with my images and the equipment I use regularly needs to be able to withstand abuse due to the environments I shoot in. If I were to lose any of my images due to a drive failure it could be very detrimental to my business especially if it could have been prevented. With the Fortress HD I don't worry about a failure due to drive shock and the Oxford FireWire bridge you use has always been my favorite. Since the Fortress is a bus powered HD I can even work on images while traveling without worrying about finding a power source, I just plug it into my laptop and off I go. The unit itself is very stylish looking and shows great craftsmanship all the way down to the non-slip base. Thank you very much for coming up with this fantastic product. I'm sure many photographers who travel and cover the types of events that I do will appreciate the protection your product provides.
